Summer by the seaside with brightly coloured beach huts ,ice creams, sandcastles and the unreliable British weather. What could be better?

THE GATE HOUSE

He rarely left the Gate house,

preferring the Rolls, the Bentley, the Daimler to the Family.

He only barely put up with their presence

while chauffeuring them around the country side.

So naturally he became the prime suspect.

The Hen House

Coq au Vin was one fine French, feathered fellow.

He liked to think he was king, ruler of the roost.

Whether yay or nay , hen pecked or not,

let us hope he does not wind up in the pot.

BIRD HOUSE

The quail quietly tiptoed in and made herself at home.

Squatter’s rights she then declared.

And just like that, she expropriated his inheritance,

leaving him in exile on  St. Helena.
