City Crows and Country Owls

Double-sided mini collages, with urban crows on one side and owls in nature on the other. These are on display at Portals Gallery in Duncan, BC., until Dec. 18.

The ephemera: original city plans from 1944 atlas; original documents from 19th and early 20th centuries, original vintage stamps, various old photos of nature and town, natural history illustrations of birds.

QUEENS!

The Queens were in their towers contemplating the ridiculous spectacle that the kings were making as they preened among the crowds below.

The found objects: a rusty fleur de lys; three pen nibs; two stars and a button; 3 vintage lotto numbers.

Their royal highnesses strutted amongst their subjects! “Who is the fairest of them all?” they asked?

“Moi! Moi!” crie le Roi Autruche.

“Que no, soy yo!” declara el Rey Cigueña !

“Oh no, it is I, huffed the King Pheasant.

Emerging from Isolation

At last they were able to emerge from the Pandemic winter of isolation.
