For my cousin Susan. Our grand-parents were siblings and they lived in Spotlight Cove on North Galiano Island on the West Coast of Canada. Our parents grew up there. Our family lived on Galiano through two world wars and the great depression and into the early 1980s. We all hold fond memories of this special place.

The ephemera: Vintage Chart of Trincomali Channel featuring North Galiano, Spotlight Cove and Porlier Pass.
The found objects: vintage key, vintage brass buttons, antique nail and silk thread, and tiny antique flag.
Size: 15 inches tall by 12 inches long.
Astonishing to have a property for so many generations. Sounds magical. Can you still visit there? Love the map!!
The property was sold in the mid 1980s. The new owners kindly hosted a family reunion for us in 2004. We visit the island in summer sometimes. I have a copy of family memoirs from my Aunty about Galiano island homesteading life from the 20s to the late 1940s…So lovely to have.
