NB :In researching “Calling Birds” I discovered that  in the older versions  of the song The twelve days of Christmas , it is four Colly Birds referring to blackbirds but it has been changed in the modern version of the song to four Calling Birds.

  1. Merry Christmas Wilma! I hope you had a fab day out there on the coast. We’re luck to have decent temps, but there’s no outdoor grilling happening here.

How lucky to find actual old sheet music for such a popular song. You are the Sherlock Holmes of Ephemera. Colly Birds hey? Well, they do sound a bit colic at times. I just bought a bird feeder before the Holidays. It’s doomed, so the crows and magpies can’t get in and make a mess. It’s just for the little cute birds (like you 😀 ) Happy New Year my dear! xK

    • Merry Christmas to you too! My Edmonton snow bird is very happy to be home for Christmas because your idea of decent temperatures don’t give with ours lol. All the best in the new year xo W
